About This Recipe

A homemade version of the Starbucks Oleato™ coffee. This unique latte infuses extra virgin olive oil into a creamy oat milk latte. The olive oil lends a silky texture and a subtle richness to the coffee, creating a velvety smooth latte without a strong olive taste. It’s a must-try twist for coffee lovers and foodies alike.

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup oat milk (or milk of choice)
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil (cold-pressed, high quality)
  • 2 shots espresso (about 2 ounces hot espresso)

Instructions

  1. 1Heat the oat milk until steaming (about 45 seconds in a microwave or on the stovetop until hot but not boiling).
  2. 2Pour the hot milk into a tall heatproof cup or milk frother. Add the extra virgin olive oil to the milk.
  3. 3Froth the milk and olive oil together for about 20–30 seconds using a milk frother or an immersion blender, until it becomes creamy and slightly foamy. The olive oil should emulsify with the milk, turning the mixture a light golden color.
  4. 4Pour the freshly brewed espresso into a serving mug.
  5. 5Gently pour the frothed olive oil milk mixture over the espresso. There will be a thin layer of crema-like foam on top. Stir lightly and enjoy immediately.
