Ingredients

  • 1 cup coarsely ground coffee beans
  • 4 cups cold water
  • Milk, cream, or sweetener (optional, to serve)

Instructions

  1. 1Combine coarsely ground coffee and cold water in a large jar or pitcher.
  2. 2Stir to make sure all the coffee grounds are saturated. Cover and let steep in the refrigerator for about 12–24 hours.
  3. 3Strain the coffee through a fine-mesh sieve or coffee filter to remove grounds. Store the cold brew concentrate in the fridge.
  4. 4To serve, pour equal parts cold brew concentrate and water (or adjust strength to taste) over ice. Add milk or sweetener if desired.
