Description

Espresso Vivace has built its reputation on treating espresso as a true culinary craft. Founded in 1988 by David Schomer and Geneva Sullivan, the company has spent decades studying, refining, and elevating espresso to something far beyond a simple morning drink. Since 1992, Vivace has roasted in the classic Northern Italian style, focusing on mild, high quality arabica beans and bringing each one to the perfect point of caramelized sweetness. The result is a signature espresso that many fans, including chef Emeril Lagasse, consider among the best in the country.

David Schomer’s commitment to precision and education has shaped Vivace’s identity. His long running research has led to influential books, barista training materials, and industry leading techniques that helped define modern espresso culture. Every cup reflects this careful approach to roasting, brewing, and understanding coffee at a deeper level.

Espresso Vivace continues to serve espresso that is rich, balanced, and unmistakably caramel forward. It is a destination for anyone who wants to experience coffee prepared with decades of knowledge and a clear passion for the art.

Gets crowded but they do have a dedicated quiet room. I prefer other coffee shops, but it was worth a visit for their famous Cafe Nico drink (not pictured), which my friends had. I was the chump who ordered a regular latte (not knowing about the Cafe Nico), which was decent. Latte art was cool.

A must-visit for coffee lovers and latte art fans! Vivace Coffee is more than just a café—it’s a piece of Seattle’s coffee history. Fun fact: this is where the iconic Rosetta latte art was first created, so of course, I had to try one! The place is cozy and warm, with a laid-back vibe and walls that seem to whisper coffee secrets. Whether you’re a casual sipper or a full-blown coffee nerd, Vivace is a gem worth exploring.
